about

Little Grey Line is a new concept in children’s clothing that was born from a pile of my husband’s work shirts. Minutes away from their second life in a thrift store, it dawned on me that there was nothing wrong with each shirt other than the fact that they were too big.  To him, each piece had lost its initial usefulness due to weight loss, but to me they had not lost their memory. Though laundered countless times, they still smelled like him. I wanted to figure out a way to give them new life.

A sustainable, resourceful design solution emerged as a dress for my then two year old daughter, Adeline Grey.

Since that first dress, Little Grey Line continues to seek out the unique features of each shirt and incorporate them into one-of-a-kind, treasured children’s wear.  Each garment, through its previous life, has a story and one of the personal joys of making each piece is sharing its memory.

I design and hand-fabricate each Little Grey Line artifact and I look forward to sharing each design and story with you.
